Records for the South Danvers and later, Peabody Almshouse include the Register from 1868-1905. Note there are many blank pages in the book and they have not be scanned. The almshouse was located on Lynnfield Street and was on the former Nathaniel Nurse farm, which was more than 200 acres. The house was not built until 1844 and was a red brick and granite building.. The building was used by the City of Peabody until 1963. The property was later rezoned and became the Peabody Industrial Park.

Because the Peabody Institute Library was a separate institution from the City of Peabody the Library was required to publish an annual report. The report, usually, included the names of the Trustees; names and titles of library staff; a letter from the Library Director; statistics from the previous year and the operating budget of the Library. This report is the 56th annual report for the year 1908.
